did you know that the original song Jingle Bells was written about people drag racing their horses and sleighs?

My song of the day today: All the Gold in Califonia Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers
All the gold in California, is in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills, in somebody else's name. So if you dreaming, about Californias, it don't matter at all, where you've played before. California is a brand new game.
Verse 2:
Tryin'to be a hero, winding up a zero, can scar a man forever, right down to your soul. Living on the spotlight, can kill a man outright. 'Cause everything that glitters is not gold.
Repeat verse 1 (2x)
Brand new game. A brand new game.

My song of the day The Louvin Brothers When I Stop Dreaming (Charlie recently passed away Wedensday January 26th, 2011 at 83 from complications of pancreatic cancer.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUhYckHoTxMThe worst that I've ever been hurt in my life The first time I ever wanted to die Was the night when you told me you loved someone new And asked me if I could forget When I stop dreaming That's when I'll stop loving you I'd be like a flower unwanted in spring Alone and neglected transplanted in vain To a garden of sadness where it's pedals will fall In the shadow of undying pain You can teach the flowers to bloom in the snow You may take a pebble and teach it to grow You can teach all the raindrops to return to the clouds But you can't teach my heart to forget

Song of the Day; There'll be No Teardrops Tonight Hank Williams www.youtube.com/watch?v=JE65-Z8pOV0I`ll pretend I`m free from sor- row Make believe that wrong is right Your wedding day will be to-morrow But There`ll Be No Teardrops To-night. Why, oh why - should you de-sert me Are you doin` this for spite If you only want to hurt me Then There`ll Be No Teardrops To-night. I`ll believe that you still love me When you wear your veil of white But you think that you`re above me So There`ll Be No Teardrops Tonight. Shame, oh shame - for what you`re doin` Other arms will hold you tight You don`t care whose life you ruin But There`ll Be No Teardrops Tonight.

Come To Bed" by Gretchen Wilson featuring John Rich (Ghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=wzvUpUK_IXwretchen Wilson/John Rich/Vicky McGehee)
1st Verse
Sometimes we fight 'Bout who's wrong and right And stay up all night And sometimes we drink And say hurtful things That we don't mean
Pre Chorus
Yeah, we're both screamin' But nobody's listenin' Let's take this madness Out of the kitchen
Chorus
Come to bed Let's just lay down There's just one way We're gonna work this out Forget what I did Forget what you said Oh, darlin' (darlin') Come to bed
2nd Verse
Well, I love you You know I do And you love me, too So let's just stop Remember what we've got Before it all gets lost
Pre Chorus
Just take my hand It's been way too long Turn out the lights And turn each other on
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge
And let's put aside our pride For feelin's for tonight In the mornin' we'll see things In a different light
Tag Chorus
Just come to bed Let's just lay down There's just one way We're gonna work it out Forget what I did Forget what you said Oh, darlin' (darlin') Come to bed

I made the mistake of watching Biography last night and the subject was Fleetwood Mac. I hate to admit that I actually played their Rumors album until it died but now today all I can hear in my head is Second Hand News......where did my Gene Watson songs go? ??

There ain't nothing wrong with admitting that you listen to fine music Chili. I've got Mac in the disk drive right now as a matter of fact. (But listening to Larry Gatlin)LOL

I've watched this thread for a while. Finally decided I'd make a contribution once I got the vibe of what was being shared. I first heard this song by Shawn Camp as he picked guitar for the legendary Guy Clark. I really like Guy's music, but this song by Shawn just leveled me.

I posted the lyrics to "Amazed" by Lonestar a few weeks ago, here is a live performance from May 2000. My lady just melts when I play this for her....

Great songs there guys! I'm counting the days until Feb 26th for my trip up to the Stagecoach Ballroom in Ft Worth for the Gene Watson performance after which we are going over to Billy Bob's for Buddy Guy. Gene's my fave but I love really good music and woudn't miss seeing Guy for anything. So thrilled we can make it work to do both on the same night. I'm fairly sure my theme song between now and then is going to be this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=orBLYVTiLqY
