1968 - Richard finished 10th in the Motor Trend 500 at Riverside despite having engine problems. It was the 5th consecutive year of problems in this race - 4 mechanical problems and 1 boycott year. Wonderful stuff.
Mario is another one up there as one of the best ever. Indy cars, stock cars, F1, Sports cars, Midgets. He drove 'em all with great success.
And a real gentleman. Only met him once, at a booksigning. But unlike many of these guys, he was signing everything you brought along, nto jsut his book. And he spent some real time with talking with each fan.

I love it! And yes, Mario belongs there too. On road courses Parnelli was incredible as well. Wasn't he one of the first ringers?
