Inman
• Todd Berrier was Kevin Harvick's crew chief since 2003 -- the pair won a then-Busch Series title in '01 -- before mid-season changes in '09 placed him with first Mears and subsequently his current pairing with Jeff Burton.
• Dale Inman won seven championships as Richard Petty's crew chief and one more with Terry Labonte.
Q: What's the biggest change you've seen in NASCAR since you broke into the sport?
Wingo: Money. It's just the big teams now.
Berrier: It's a lot less racing and a lot more politics. It used to be just guys who were working on cars, and we were having a good time.
Inman: They've got specialists in just about every area of the race car. When I started, I drove the truck, changed the tires, argued with NASCAR, argued with the driver.
Q: True or false? The best seat at any race track is the one on top of the pit box.
Wingo: True. It's right there where the action is.
Berrier: False. There's an immense amount of pressure, and at least if you're at home watching it, you get to rewind and go back and look at it.
Inman: No, not really. The spotters have the best view of the race, if you just want to watch the race.
Q: Who taught you the most about racing?
Wingo: Jimmy Means -- just in learning every aspect of the car. When I worked for him, you had to do everything.
Berrier: Ed Berrier . He taught me how to build race cars and build chassis and fabricate and race and do all those things.
Inman: Lee [Petty]. There are a lot of people still in racing today who claim they went through the Level Cross University at Petty Enterprises.
