There is probably more pics in this thread than anyother I have put up.
In the 1964 Daytona grid shot it is interesting to see that Paul Goldsmith has a Plymouth and his team mate Bobby Isaac has a Dodge. I'sm sure Chrysler wanted it this way. Ray Nichels built and owned both of these cars. Nichels is a legend in the Midwest to this day even though he is no longer living.
Who can imagine watching a race from the beach. That must have been something to do back in the day.
That kind of feeling is so far removed to what we see now. Nascar has done little to capture this kind of magic. Not that they are going to beach run but to capture the feeling. So intead the feeling is history and some of it is right here.

I have four computers at work and these pics will be a slide show on one of them for sure! And yes, the feeling of history is here. And will stay!
