Me who knows very little about engines is even enjoying this! But I'm slow to learn. Don't stop because I haven't posted. I hate to show my ignorance on some of this stuff!

Excellent! So little I know of the very earliest! I am hoping you will kind of take the lead on the 50's drivers part of the hall of fame. There are a couple of others that can be with you on that. Am I right that you followed the racing even back then?

Yes I will take that part. and yes I have followed racing since 1950. want to but didn't get to go to the first race at Darlington, even I only lived about 45 miles from the track, but back then that was along way.

In 1949, Lee's first win came in his fifth race at Heidleberg Raceway. Heidelberg was outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The site is now a strip mall named Raceway Plaza, with a Walmart. Woo hoo!
