I was raised a Mopar fan. My dad loved Chrysler. Something about them building tanks in WW2 when there was no real profit in them just to help the war effort or something Chrysler did that made GI's in the Pacific love them. I will support Ford also as RPM is my main concern and really only concern much in Nascar. If Richard went to Fiat I would even be a Fiat fan. But yeah, the Mopars and the hemi will always be what Nascar means to me.

Hello all,
I fess up to the first no vote. But I need to explain it.
I LOVE the stuff dodgehemi has posted here.
But a fifteen page thread is unmanageable.
I am a BIG believer in subject lines that match thread content. This thread has grown to include a ton of stuff, well beyond the scope of "a little racing history".
For example, a newcomer to the site, perhaps interested in info about Chrysler's famous Hemi engine development, would probably not think to look into a thread titled "racing history".
And do you remember all the other topics included in this thread? I doubt it.
So...my no vote really means I don't think THIS thread should continue.
However, I vote a hearty YES for Dodgehemi to keep entertaining us. I simply think each topic should be in its own thread.
I'll get down off my soapbox now.

I have been watching this thread from the beginning and it is great. Most thread forums let it ride which is what we are doing here. It is up to you Hemi.
I also understand Paul's point of view as well. Either way it is not a problem. By the same token do not hesitate to start a new thread for any reason regardless of the History Thread's status or placement.
If you let it fall off the main page it will be archived to the Hall of Fame site. I almost locked it into the top slot recently and still may. Way to go bro.

OK move it to The Archived Hall of Fame Thread.
From now on when I post it will on a new thread
Thinks for allowing "A LITTLE RACING HISTORY" to remain as long as it did.

I think that's a good idea Howard.
Should we post 65 more comments so you can hit 2000!

I'll do my part to help you get to 2000. I have enjoyed the stories and history that has been posted here. I guess it has gotten a bit long winded and jumbled together, but where else can you find a clearinghouse of racing and automotive history in one place?

We only like 44 more veiws to have 2000 lets get there before it goes to Archived in The Hall of Fame Thread.
I think it should have a place in History.

I will add another! I have enjoyed this topic a lot. On days when the pain or worry was getting to me I could get lost in it. On days when I was overjoyed I could come and get lost in it. Hmmmm. Do I sense something there? Perhaps because it is a nice place to get lost. I do agree though if you wish to thread them each separately. Would be nice to start them with "A little racing history" though and then perhaps just two or three words to describe? And yes I am the one who voted yes.
