I sure do like reading these and seeing the pics and all. Even the word hemi has a magic to it that only a Furrari can come close to.

Chrysler introduced the Tomahawk (the V10 motorcycle) at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. 500 hp! They sold nine replicas for $550,000 each through Neiman Marcus. But they are not street legal. Full article at www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/tomahawk.html

Is the vibration damper the same thing as a harmonic balancer?

Now where else can you go to find a picture of a hemi crank bolt package? This place is great!
How many parts make up a Hemi? If dodgehemi gives us all of them, this may become the longest thread in history!

I don't think we've seen main bearings or caps yet, so I guess we aren't finished. I think dodgehemi is trying to build his post count. It's a long way to 400, like some people here.

Oh, you mean building a thread count like Paul. . . How shameful!!!!!
I still wonder if that is the same as a harmonic balancer on a Corvetter or whatever.

Songsmith1950 Yes the Vibration damper is the same as a harmonic balancer.
pmossberg I don't really know how many parts make up a hemi, but I will tell you it will be over 1000. But I don't inten to use all of them I only have about 13 more post on this.
revilo As for post count No.

Good. I thought so. I had never heard of one until one of my friends had one go bad on his Vette. This is a great thread! I think rev was making fun of me and pmossberg in the count battle. Nothing meant toward you hemi. I have to ask though. Is the vibration damper adjusted like a wheel with a little more wieght here or there to balance the engine? Seems like that would be it but I really don't know. Thanks.

Songsmith got it right dodgehemi. We were busting each other. I'm enjoying this thread. I have hemi-envy. My 65 plymouth has a humble 318 poly. But then she does get 20mpg on the highway; not bad for a 4,000 pound 45 year old!

songsmith1950
The Vibration damper or harmonic Balancer is harmonic balanced at the factor and is set up to stop the engine from vibration it is used as a balancer for the crankshaft.
That is the best I can answer.
