Kyle's red 42

Here is a very rare pic that I have been hoping to stumble on for a long time. This is from the World 600 in 1980. Kyle finished 7th.



Supposedly Kyle stated on Twitter that they bought this car from LG Dewitt after wrecking the car intended for Charlotte. They did not have enough time to paint it properly. Notice the overspray on the left front headlamp. This pic may have may have been taken after the race noting that the front end has been sandblasted and there is a tire rub on the left front fender.

Here iss another shot I found and it is painted right. This car had to be hard to look at in person.

Thanks Rick. I just thought I just couldnt remember this car. Then I remembered this was before every race was on TV and I listened to all of them on the radio. Man have things changed.

Yea i was in the same boat. Listen on the radio then buy a stock car mag. or something to see what the car looked like that day. We've come a long way.
