Those who have seen it will never forget it The unmistakeble Dayglo Red and Blue tied it all together for race fans everywhere. Richard's STP Dodge is the most famous race car in the history of American Motorsport. To race fans it is about the car. Nascar in it's glory was full of color on it's racing machines. These hot rods were something to see in all colors of the rainbow.

I was an impressionable teen when STP and Richard joined forces. I remember Hating all the red paint on RP's blue cars.
But I learned to love it!
Great photos Rick.

The most beautiful car ever in Nascar and maybe anything else beside the Ferarri 250 GTO and Porsche 904 and it is on par with even those. Nothing before, except the 64 and 65 of course, and nothing since. . . .

I'm a Mopar guy. But I have to throw the Ford GT-40 (in Gulf colors) onto that list. Maybe it's the light blue on the Gulf cars!
Hmmm...smelling a thread hi-jack here. Where's Furrd these days?
Maybe to keep us amused after the season and before Daytona 2010, we start a "most beautiful race cars" thread?

Both of these pitures are from Nashville Speedway. The top one is from 1974 and the second is from 1975.
Nashville Faigrounds and it's track will be shuddered next year.
