It has been a long time and I am not talking about the song by Boston
I am so sorry to hear of Scott Halls passing. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace with best wishes and prayers for his family and friends.
Our site is running on impulse power and that is understandable. RPM is and has been struggling for quite some time and we lose interest. It takes effort to get on this site considering the ease of flying around Facebook. Twitter and Instagram. The power of social media is undeniable. Things change over time and we move on. I ran into Kevin Gates on Instagram recently but Instagarbage does not like me to much and closed the door. No loss.
I logged into this site about a month ago but only took a quick look. Surprisingly I remembered my password. The last two years have been up and down for me and my family. Things have been difficult. We have been indirectly affected by the pandemic but fortunately no one has become ill because of it. I have been out of work since August of 2020 and we have lost our car. I have been able to draw unemployment since last October which helped us considerably. This was possible due to Maryland's pandemic protocol. Under normal circumstances I would not have been able to receive benefits. Maryland gave the green light to everyone that need the help. Things changed this Spring as Maryland changed their method of payment and required everyone to reapply. They froze my account and I did not receive any payments for 12 weeks. My benefits are set to expire in early September. I contacted my district representative. Nothing. Finally after searching Facebook for local groups regarding this I found a person who posted contact information for an administrator with the MD Department of Labor. I wrote him a letter from hell, Tom would have been proud. With in two hours my account was reinstated. With in four days my benefits were released. The division of unemployment has treated many claimants badly and Marylanders deserve better. I lit their asses up and it worked.
I am not visiting the forum today because Erik Jones managed a 7th place finish yesterday, it just worked out this way. Yesterdays race was ridiculous and falls in line with NASCAR's ineptitude laced with failure. Over the last twenty years they have systematically ruined the sport. It is no longer fun to watch and seeing RPM's struggles makes it even worse. It is what it is. Richard Petty Motorsports lack of performance is disheartening and is one reason our site has turned into a boneyard of sorts.
If anything I want to let all of you know that I have not forgotten about little part of the Petty world and I miss it. Maybe we can make a little action here and have some fun.
Bests of wishes always and hope to see you soon. Rick
