It's happening, I guess. Petty is closing its Mooresville shop, switching to Chevy and moving to the Childress property. Apparently this is for the 43 only right now. The note ESPN has up on the Jayski site says "no word on a second team (#55)" and that's the first time I've heard 55 mentioned. As bad as Jayski is with his typos, he probably meant to hit "44" since this is an update to an earlier story about Bubba Wallace's future. Wonder if they are joining to be the start up team for Dodge. There has been some talk the last few months that Dodge is looking for a team and RCR is maybe the team for 2019. Talk is he is not happy with the help he is getting from GM.

Bring it on, cant be any worse. if Chrysler is coming back they need to present a car/ platform at least twelve months in advance. next year is out.
Concerning Childress, his teams have won twice this year. If he is not happy with GM I doubt Chrysler LLC is going to make his mouth water. Maybe there is something with GM and Hendrick Motorsports, maybe not but RPM aligning with Childress would be a plus.
Another issue is the Camaro being Chevy's car in Cup. The Camaro has heavily recessed areas in the grill and that is problem. They have to fix that.
I hope this rumor is true and think it would be a good situation for both teams. Nothing is easy at this level as we see highly funded teams struggle. A team definitely needs chemistry along with strong resources.
We will find out soon enough

For some reason I think this may be a good deal for both camps. Neither has met with terrific success in several years. One thing for sure both these head folks have had the kind of success that lots of previous owners dream about.
I think that if they were going to put their name into a joint venture they are going to be in it to win. Both of these camps know the kinda of talent, money, and dedication it is going to take to win. I just can't see Richard Childress playing around just to stay in the game.
I'm like Rick bring it on it certainly could be no worse than where they are running now.
