Dear Friends,
This is the first time that I have ever come to the group looking for your help. It may seem so minuscule compared to some of the diagnoses that many have you have had over the preceeding years that I almost feel embarrased but for once in my life I feel somewhat frightened. You see this past Sunday I was taken to the ER for terrible mouth pain. Turns out I have an abcessed tooth with also my wisdom teeth being impacted. I have read a lot of scary things with regards to both the abcess and wisdom teeth extraction. But I will be undergoing oral surgery this Monday. So all I ask is that you please keep me in your prayers over the next few days that the infection stays put and dies down with treatment of the antibiotic and that the surgery goes fairly well too.
Always in my thoughts and prayers,
Ed Kimmel

The only thing scarier than the dentist is his billing clerk!! Been there, done that. I'll keep you in prayer.

Ed,
Nothing is so small that it cannot be carried to the Lord in prayer. May you be granted the healing touch of Jesus as He guides the hands of your doctor, and the calming influence of the Holy Spirit in the time leading up to your surgery. The prayers of the Petty Posse will carry you through this surgery and your recovery. I am happy to know that you trust us enough to come to us with your concerns. We care about each other here. God bless you,
Joe

Of course we will pray with and for you. The surgery sounds actually a lot worse than it is. If you smoke it will aggrivate it afterward but if not you should do well. I have had this done a couple of times. No it isn't what I would choose for a vacation but the sound is worse than the actual procedure. But I do also know the fear of the dentist. . . I let some of my teeth go bad unnecessarily because I feared the man witht he leanback chair so much. We understand, Eddy. And our prayers are with you just as much as any with any other affliction. Don't feel silly. What would be silly would be to need prayer and not ask.

Hoping by now the antibiotics have your pain greatly lessened. I found that was the case for me. The infection multiplies the pain greatly. But, now that it may not hurt as bad don't let that lead you to call the dentist and cancel Monday. It will come back if you do. Not telling how I know but it surely will! What I do in these times, even with kidney removal and all, is just look at it as an experience I need to have. That may sound strange but it does help. Just something you need to go through on your path through life. Something that will come and go like the other things do. Still praying and pulling for you.

Never say "pulling" to someone who is going to the dentist. Do you remember when Johnny Carson would do his routine as Dear Old Aunt Blabby? Ed McMahon would say something using a word like "expire", and Aunt Blabby would say "Never say expire to an old person."

Coming for someone who has gone trough root canals with out novicane (spelling?). having the teeth removed will result in major loss of pain. The couple days of possible discomfort from the surgery will be a cake walk compared to what you have already endured.
