I wish one of us was an aerodynamics engineer.
The Ford nose may be more vertical, but when you draw a line across the front end shots, the leading edge is lower than both the Chevy and Toyota.

Thank you Paul.
This post took effort for sure.
Here it is. Eventhough the Fusion may have a lower hood at the grille this car still has a larger verticle front where as the Chevrolet and Toyota have a more rounded profile plus a relief area extended from below the grill.
This is two advantages concerning downforce. Remember the Platypus nose's allowed several years ago before the COT ?
Downforce is where it's at as the slight bumper extention with a leaned upper facia is an advantage.
As this season plays out we are seeing it even at Dover.
There is a difference with these cars and right here we are looking at it. Usually I guess wrong about things but just cannot let this go.
FORD needs to bring a new car and getting whipped this season will make it happen.
Thank you Paul for taking the time to post this. At some point please archive this thread in the Hall of Fame section

Good stuff Rick.
I see what you mean by the extended area below the grills.
I'm trying to find overhead shots to complete the view! Probably impossible. But I you never know...
