Thank you. I like the format. Now it's time to do some research and put together a bio for my nominee from the early days.

Hi gang,
Not for nothing, but it seems we've moved towards what was driving some people nuts on the old site.
I now have to check a half dozen different forums to see what is new. It's a real p.i.t.a.
Can't we put all the Hall of Fame posts onone "board" instead of having four different places to go and look?
Just one man's opinion....

Start pushing buttons Paul To be sure this site will never be like the others for the reasons that Tom stated in the beginning. The sub boards that I created are convienent actually. It is up to you guys to put good content in them. It think it was dodge that suggested time periods by decade and these slots are significant. Nascar has two era's only stating that the Modern era started in 1972 when RJ Reynold's came on board for the full season with Winston as a sponsor. The Hall forum is just an archive of the best drivers in Nascar's past

Hey, that there is big talk from the guy that didn't want to go to a separate board to post his pictures! I'm kidding. Really, I'm kidding!
I agree sub-boards make it easier to post. But I think they make it harder to find new content.
If the Hall of Fame is "just an archive of the best drivers in Nascars past", then four sub-boards should not be necessary.
Or maybe I'm just riled up because I couldn't figure out where to put Smokey Yunick, as he was active and successful inteh 50s and 60s. Nah, that's not it.

That is true about me Paul, I did not want to conform. When they went to a seperate forum for pics and videos I knew that the exposure would drop.
The real issue was that what we or I was not to supposed to do, others being moderators could do. There was another issue that I will not talk about but it was the reason that really brought this site into existance.
Forums with large numbers have to moderated because it can get out of control. Tom and myself cherish the idea of not having to administrate.
For now we will let the Hall forum ride as it is and may add a 5th sub board or as you suggest roll it all into one. Personally I like the idea of having the Hall split up into decades.
I have been thinking of a stand alone web site that would be way cool but that would take some time ...I am talking about something like Legends of Nascar, Decades of racing etc...mayboe down the road abit.

I like the four section format. It helps in one more way. We can post under those four sections the drivers we admired and followed from those periods. Then when we are ready we can vote on the selections and then simply "sticky" the drivers who are selected for the hall of fame and also inside the decade sticky the most important notes on each of the inductees. In ways it makes it harder but in ways it streamlines things a good bit. And we still have the main for current stuff and for personal and racing stuff. I think it works pretty well. The Hall will bring those interested into it and then we spotlight the winners. Nice nominations so far. Needless to say Richard, Lee, and Adam are in. I believe Kyle should also make it as a humanitarian if nothing else. I do believe Victory Junction is worthy of a spot for him and Patty.

Lets set up a nomination process and procedure to nominate people.
Do we use the Hall of Fame forum are have a different forum to do this?

I'm staying on my "too much overhead soap-box". What do we need a vote for? If someone thinks their fave driver, crew chief, owner (or muscle car as we proven already ) deserves to be in our HOF, let 'em post away!

You know, that is not a bad idea. Only thing is that the most popular drive may be way down on the page after a while. What the votes would do is win a sticky for the driver post.

If there is no vote, there will never be a "most popular". Problem solved. All are equal in our HOF. Also, anyone can click the "views" column head and sort by the number of views (or any other column head for that matter).
