A Petty of a much different sort. If anyone EVER sees one of these on sale...let me know! Gibson and Sam Bass only made 43 of these:

Sam Bass did the painting. Same artist that does the trophy guitar for the Nashville race. Gibson made 43 of them. They are Gibson Les Pauls. I'm not sure which specific model.
I think Richard received number 1 and number 43.
Probably at least $5k if any of them sell.

I recall a guitar given to Petty by the country group Alabama at a concert commemorating Richard's retirment in 1992.
That guitar is a Custom model obviously with a standard fat neck. $5000 may not be enough to get one of those.

Now that is a guitar I could LOVE! Any Lester is a fine guitar but this one is kinda magical.

Now that should be an investment! That is not that much for a commemorative Paul.
