We will never know all of our makers secrets but we have always known the wonderment of his creations. Courtesy of the Hubble Space Telescope and brilliant scientists around the world the above image is a collage of long exposures taken over an extended period of time. This edge on view of the galaxy below looks so clear and close that you can almost touch it. The Hubbles abilty to resolve imiages is astounding. This image is from Hubble's deep field survey. Again long exposures bring the universe into view. Just about everything in this image is a galaxy or galaxies. To put this in perspective the objects shown here are contained in a width of a dime that is 75 feet away. Part II next

Thanks Rick. We have yet another thing in common. I have a ton of "space shots" I've saved over the years. I'd bet Rick knows about this site. You can see a new, high resolution space shot every day at antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html

Rick et al, Another cool site is earthobservatory.nasa.gov/This site does not contain photos OF space. It contains photos FROM space. A new pic of the earth every day form a vantage point most of us will never see.

The colors in these pics are so vivid. Almost neon in places. Beautiful beyond belief. I bet heaven has colors like that.
