Hello All,

I know you have not heard from me in a while. However, I just had my 3 month follow up at the doctor's at Roswell Park. The doctor indicated that everything was normal on my CT scan. WooHoo - I am STILL cancer free. Honestly, I was quite anxious about going because of all the changes that are going on. Well now I can be relieved that all the changes are for the good. Even now things are improving. I can swallow much better and I am getting the saliva back in my mouth. (Remember my salvia glands were somewhat diminished from the radiation) Now I do not have to go back to get a CT scan or see the doctors until late January.

I do have some somwhat unfortunate news. I still do not have a job yet. However, things are not that bad. In late August, I had a trucking company that I was lined up to go to. Because I had these appointments in September, I was not able to go to work because I would be gone from home for at least a month. I will call them back here shortly, but first I want to apply to another company. (As the people in the trucking world know it takes a day or so before you can call them so that the application I filled out on line is in their database) So something will come up soon.

Other than that there has been absolutely nothing going on other than me watching TV and sleeping, oh yeah - and the healing that is continually going on. Each day that goes by is another day that things are getting back to normal before all this happened.

One thing I do miss, is having some home cooked meals once in awhile. I have been eating frozen dinners for the last three months and it is getting quite old. Oh well......untill next time (sometime around in February)

I remember seeing "updates from Garners_ferry" back on the old RPE forums.

Chile, was garners_ferry the person's screen name? Do we know a "real person name"?

Yes, that was his screen name. I'm always reluctant to give "real" names without permission if you don't mind. He participated a lot on the old PE forum a couple of years ago and was an over the road trucker. He developed cancer in the throat area and is coming back from the chemo and radiation treatments. He had to give up his job because of the treatments and he's hoping to get back on with another trucking firm. He participated quite a lot on the chat room as well. Lots of evenings on there with him and Scott and several Labonte fans were most enjoyable. I know there are those here who still remember him. Thanks for asking.

Yeah, have Garner come on here. I miss him. I was thinking about him the other day. I was thinking, "Man I haven't heard from him in awhile. I wonder how he's doing. I remember he had cancer, and I hope he's alright." But now you've solved that riddle. I tend to miss the old PEI site a lot. I wish there was a way we could get it up and running again.

I've invited him to this site a couple of times. I'll give it another try. I keep up with him as best I can via e-mails and he updates a bunch of us when he has new news. Let me see what I can do. I know he feels a bit like Scott does since the breakup of PE.

I miss the old PE site as well but this one oerates in the same way with out the bells and whistles. Just straight and let it rip about what ever you want to.

Prayers for Dale to find a good job now and to stay cancer free. He is one from the old PE board and a few of us had it all going on at the same time. Sadly, one of ours, Petty45blue's wife lost her battle though she gave it a heck of an effort.

We took some good memories from the PE forum and the chat room. Chili is right, you can't go back. It is great to hear something from G. We had a bunch of folks going through tough times for themselves and their families. Toward the end it got very uneasy on that forum. There were a lot of arguments about Bobby, Kyle, BV, and others. We all knew things were falling apart, and didn't want to let go. We left some good people behind because of that. We are here now, and we are a stronger family for our struggles. The only way to look is forward. We still have Richard Petty, and that was doubtful for a while. Thanks for the update Chili.

Please pass this on to Garner..........in the Crookston, MN area for this time of year.......last about 6-8 weeks.......they need lots of truck drivers to haul beets. A call to any Co op in the town can find an opening........

It's not permananet but it pays a few bills.
