1959 - Richard finishes 4th in a 250 lap convertible race at Hickory (NC) Speedway. 1964 - Buck Baker finishes 4th in the Southeastern 500 at Bristol driving a #41 Petty Plymouth. Richard finishes 8th in the second Petty Plymouth. Photo from collection of Ray Lamm:

Not much of a guardrail at Bristol in those days. I can imagine Richard was pleased to have Buck as a team mate rather than not. Buck was Bad Ass on the track.

This is a great picture. I love the two styles.
Richard looks like he's all "up on the wheel" and Buck looks sorta "laid back (which we know he was NOT).

With the nose high they look like they just left the starting line in a drag race. Whew wee check that ride height. I know over the years Buddy and David Pearson have been in a broadcast booth and David was gettin on Richard a little and Buddy wasn't havin any of that and bascially told David he best shut up. Buddy could wheel one pretty good too. pb ;D
