1993 - Alan Kulwicki killed in plane crash returning to Bristol TN from a Knoxville autograph signing event. R.I.P. Underbird

1951 - Lee Petty finishes 2nd behind Curtis Turner in a 150 lap race at the 3/4 mile Charlotte Speedway dirt track.

1961 - Richard finishes 2nd behind Emmanuel Zervakis in the Greenville 200 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in SC.

1979 - Richard finishes 4th in the Southeastern 500. Rookie Dale Earnhardt wins his first Cup race.

2001 - Buckshot Jones finishes 33rd in the #44 Georgia-Pacific/Hot Wheels Petty Dodge in the Harrah's 500 at Texas. Sadly, Kyle does not qualify in the 1st Texas Cup race the year after Adam's one and only Cup start.
