1953 - Lee finishes 2nd to Buck Baker in a 150 lap race at Langhorne (PA) Speedway.
1959 - Lee Petty wins the Virginia 500 at Martinsville in an Oldsmobile. Johnny Beauchamp, who narrowly lost to Lee in the inaugural Daytona 500 a few months earlier, again finishes 2nd to Lee. Richard finishes 7th.
1987 - Kyle finishes 3rd in the Winston 500 at Talladega. Davey Allison won the race for his 1st win in his rookie season. Bobby Allison wrecked early in the race, tore out a large portion of the safety fence. I was there for my 1st Dega race & sat in Moss-Thornton grandstands - only a few sections away from Bobby's near-miss.
