1958 - Bob Welborn wins a 150 lap race at Greensboro Fairgrounds Speedway driving a #44 Chevy for Julian Petty. Lee Petty finishes 2nd in an Oldsmobile. One of the best names in all of NASCAR history - Possum Jones - finishes 12th in a 2nd Julian Petty #48 Chevy. (Note how close the 44 font is to what eventually became the signature number look on Petty Enterprises' cars.) 1963 - Richard finishes 3rd in the Rebel 300 in #42 behind 2 greats - Little Joe Weatherly and Glen 'Fireball' Roberts. Teammate Jim Paschal finishes 6th in #41. 1968 - Richard finishes 3rd in the Rebel 400 behind David Pearson and Darel Dieringer. 1974 - Richard wins the Music City 420 at Nashville Speedway. The win... Teeth & legs abound in victory lane... And another pic from Russ 'Calhoun98' Thompson...

Not a bad day! But I have to ask. In 1963 wasn't that Jim Paschal instead of Joe??? Just have to ask.

Nope. Joe Pascal was Jim's second cousin. A ringer fresh off the tractor seat called in to run the race so Jim could be excused to fulfill his other job - a relief pitcher for the Greensboro minor league baseball team. ;D Actually, you are correct. Can't believe I overlooked Jim v. Joe. Thanks for the catch! A DOH! editing moment for me.
