1954 - Lee Petty wins a 200-lap dirt race at Sharon Speedway in Sharon, PA in a 1954 Chrysler.

1959 - Richard finishes 3rd in a 200 lap convertible race at Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem NC.

1971 - Richard qualifies 2nd but finishes 17th in the Kingsport 300 on the third-mile track in Kingsport, TN.

2010 - Richard is inducted as part of the inaugural class into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Sharon Speedway!! I grew up about 10 miles from there! I could on a clear night hear the races. Dave Blaney owns it now. His dad dominated there up until a couple years ago.

I can only imagine a 54 Chrysler going around that track as fast as it could! Very serious at that time but then no so much for now.
