1959 - Lee wins a 200 lapper at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway. Richard finishes 5th in his rookie year.
1970 - Richard and Pete Hamilton qualify their Petty Superbirds 2nd and 6th, respectively, for the National 500 in Charlotte. However, both crash and end up 23rd and 24th.
1981 - Buddy Arrington finishes 10th in the National 500 at Charlotte in a Dodge sponsored by Kyle Petty's Boot Barn.
1987 - Richard finishes 5th and Kyle finishes 10th in the Oakwood Homes 500 at Charlotte.
1992 - Kyle finishes 3rd in the Mello Yello Pontiac in the Mello Yello 500 at Charlotte. Richard finishes 27th in his final race at Charlotte.
2003 - Ugh, what a less than stellar performance by Petty cars in the UAW-GM 500 at Charlotte. Jeff Green finishes 27th in the 43, Christian Fittipaldi finishes 34th in the #44, and Kyle Petty finishes 40th in the #45.

For some reason, I simply can't get Photobucket pics to embed on this post. So here are some direct links. On October 11, 1992, Richard ran his final race at Charlotte, and Kyle had a great day. I had the good fortune of having pit passes for the weekend. The day before the Cup race, a buddy of mine and his sons race a quarter midget exhibition race on the frontstretch before the Busch race. It was my one and only race to be a car sponsor! My friend did me right with the paint scheme and number. The PettyCash sponsored quarter midget up on the rack. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0002.jpgThe PettyCash sponsored QM promo pic with driver Scott behind the wheel. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0004.jpgThe 43 ready to race. Driver gets his game face on while owner-crew chief-dad readies the car. Sponsor took the picture. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0005.jpgKyle's Mello Yello Pontiac is rolled to the line. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0017.jpgI really like this picture - the outgoing King's Pontiac pushed alongside eventual new champ, Alan Kulwicki. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0014.jpgWith this one, I was just flat lucky. Film camera, limited exposures left, shooting over heads of media. Raised my arm, snapped a couple, and this is one that turned out well. Had it blown up to 8x10, and the King autographed it for me. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0018.jpgThis young man is Nic - brother of Scott who was driving the 43. Only about 11 years old at the time this picture was taken, he is now deployed as part of the U.S. Army National Guard somewhere in the Middle East (he can't tell me where). Really proud of him...except for the fact he was an Awful Bill from Dawsonville fan growing up. i118.photobucket.com/albums/o96/toomuchcountry/Racing%20Other/1992%20Fall%20Charlotte%20500/1992Natl500_0007.jpg
