1955 - Lee finishes 3rd behind Fonty and Tim Flock in a 134 lap dirt race at Charlotte Speedway.
1960 - Lee wins his 54th and final race in a 200 lap race at Speedway Park in Jacksonville, FL. Richard finishes 4th. About 90 days later, Lee's career is effectively ended - and almost his life - in a wreck at Daytona.
1977 - Richard finishes 2nd after winning the pole to Neil Bonnett in his Harry Hyde-prepared Dodge in the LA Times 500 at Ontario. It is Bonnett's first career win.
