1959 - Lee finishes 4th and Richard finishes 6th in a 200 lap race at Columbia Speedway in South Carolina.

1967 - Richard wins the pole & the race in a 200 lapper at Montgomery Speedway in Alabama.

1968 - Richard shocks the racing world with his announcement that he will switch from Plymouths to Fords beginning with the 1969 season.

1978 - Richard wins the Arizona NAPA 250 at Phoenix. While officially a Winston West race and not a Winston Cup race, the win did end a long losing streak for the King.
