1977 - Richard finishes 3rd in the Winston Western 500 at Riverside.

Also, Happy Birthday to my Uncle Ronald. He's the one who took me as a kid to my first ever race - a local late model race at Nashville Speedway. As a long time driver of Chryslers and Plymouths, he barked at me "If you want me to keep taking you to these things, you better pull for Ol' Blue, Richard Petty."

I listened, I did, and we went!
