Oops, I skipped over the 78 Dodge Magnum. I photographed this car as the owners were off-loading it from their trailer. And that ends my run through Richard's cars. Next up, "Big Daddy" Don Garlits' Swamp Rat 1.

There is alot wrong with this car. The opera windows are different from eachother. The rear wheels/tires sticking out. The GOODYEAR decal on the front fender is the wrong color. Factory steering wheel and the grille has some issues.
Looking at the interior it is doubtful that this one was built by PE. OF course I am no expert but the guys at Randy Ayers forum are ...
Still great work Paul

Thanks Rick.
I'm not that familiar with this one. But now that you question it...I'm looking at the bible, The Cars of the King, here are a few more for your list...
The interior should be blue.
The STP oval on the rear quarters should be fully within the day-glo red. They should not extend into the blue.
You are right, the Goodyear decals over the front tires should be curved and white.
rear panel is all messed up. Dodge by Petty rear panel should be white writing on red paint, the outer lips of the trunk lid should be blue, the spoiler should be painted and the "red" portion is only as wide as the outer edges of the trunk stripes.
There should be aluminum panels covering the body to bumper gaps.
Opera window louvers should have only two bars and should be painted blue. The one on the right is the correct style, but not painted correctly.
OK, now I REALLY wish I had photographed the placards.

The red paint on the interior and underhood, and the back of the trunk made me wonder if this was a Winston #1 show car repainted a long time ago. A Winston show car would likely have had the red interior, and may have been a Charger in a previous life. Also the red and white flecked spatter paint is similar to the blue spatter paint on the Petty trophy room Superbird and the underside of the Hawthorne Superbird. The rest of the car under the hood looks Petty legit to me. Underhood bar configurations are similar to the Petty 71 RR pics I have up on Randy Ayers. The day glo paint on the car looked quite old.

That shows how much I know which aint much. I'm just making a guess on that too. The Winston show cars were white bodies with red trim, so the red interior would make sense.
