1953 - Petty cars take the top 2 spots in a 200 lapper at Palm Beach Speedway in West Palm Beach FL. Lee wins in a Plymouth, and Jimmy Lewallen - in his only start for Petty Enterprises - finishes 2nd in a Dodge. (Lewallen also ran a handful of races for Julian Petty and was one of the first drivers to run #43.)

1969 - Richard wins the Motor Trend 500 on the Riverside, CA road course in his first race since switching to Ford. If only A.J. Allmendinger could repeat history...

That is a great take on the 43's history.

Got to love the Plymouth truck seen in the Riverside pic.

There was not much of a break even back then as the 1969 season started in November of 1968 with Richard winning that event in a Plymouth.

If it's old it's cool and keepin it real is the rule
