For RIchard Petty 1975 was a banner year. To this day his season is the best of the Modern Era. Some say that most teams and drivers were not really concerned about running for the Championship years ago, saving it for the bigger races. Richard did not save anything when it came to winning and running for the title. It would not have mattered if any others were looking for it in "75". Petty was in the zone as he won 13 times during a 30 race schedule. Two first's for the King in this year was winning the World 600 for the first time and getting the monkey off of his back by finally winning the Firecracker 400 in at Daytona in July. The sleek lines of Dodge's Charger were beautiful to say the least. Petty Enterprises treatment of Dodge's car was something to see as no other racing car even comes close in it's appeal.

I would have a hard time coming up with a car in all of NASCAR's history that looked better than that car. The Charger body is just beautiful, though when I see one on the street now (and I do), I realize just how big that car was. On the road next to "modern" cars it looks like a battleship. But oh those lines.

Never a more beautiful racer, except maybe 64!

I have been aware of this photo's existence for quite some time but it was locked. Found it in another area that was wide open so here it is.

I owned a '74 Charger for a while. One of the most fun cars I have driven.
