I remember way back when I saw those red white and blue Matadors and thought "What the heck are they doing on a racetrack?". Then I saw Mark Donohue win on the road course. I knew of him from watching Indy car racing, so he caught my attention. He had a promising career ahead of him, but was killed as a result of a brain injury from an accident in Europe. His win at Riverside (corrected by Rick) was Penske's first in the Grand National series.

Donahue was one of the all time greats. His win for Penske was acutally at Riverside in 1973. Mark was the last so called Ringer to win a Cup race.
Peter Revson (Family owned Revlon) was another great driver that left way to soon.
