The RIchard Petty Fan Forum has been in existence since September 3rd of 2009. This site is doing as we expect and without real moderation. Any changes asked for have been discussed and resolved with no issues to speak of. We are small in number but big everywhere else. It is good to keep it small in a way as even if we were large in numbers there still would be a relatively core group that would give input and content. There are those that we want here but choose not to be and those that we miss but still the forum flows as we have wanted from the beginning. What Tom and myself wanted and have achieved is the ability to just left it rip and not have any concerns about what goes where. Personally being able to put up what ever I want when I want is it. If it is related to Nascar's wonderful history this is a great place to archive the memories and stories from the past. Everyone here has something to offer as it all goes into this wonderful melting pot. This is also a gathering place for friends to chat and find support. This Forum has come together just the way we like and that will never change.

I have to agree completely, Rick. This is what we wished it to be when we decided we needed to try to find for ourselves what wasn't out there. I do hope that any who choose to remain behind or even to part time in both places find what they wish for as well. This is as you said. A place you can post whatever you want to anywhere you want to and not be blasted for it or have it removed by someone else. Racing, prayers, weather, anything. I think this is what we all really did look for. And it is here. That is a tribute to all here. For it is in allowing it all to be that it all can be. By the taking of the freedoms and allowing the same to everyone else. I am quite happy and surely do hope we can stay here in this way for a long long time. And this year we have our best chance of real success in the races! All this and more!

Well said you guys!
I think we get along better here than a lot of my "face-to-face" friendships!

I agree with what everyone has said I check this site two or three times every noght. I look forward to all the effort Rick, Don, Paul and other make on the photos. I've been fortunate have been at several races in some of those laces. Wonderul to see the evolvement of Daytona. I went to the last race on tthe beach on 1958 ( I was on the burm in the middle) and the first race in 59 on the new track. We may have just a little more seasoned crowd over here too. Hey our guy is the King. Now wer're rootin for the Kings Cout to get better. pb By the way Richard looks like he's 20 foot off the ground in that photo. LOL

I like your way with words pb, "...a more seasoned crowd".
My pastor refers to a similar group as "...those with a bit more life experience."
Of course we also have the younger fans like cadetjordan to keep us all honest!

This site is my refuge right now. (yes, I'm still job hunting, so things are kind of stressful) I know I am among friends who really care about each other. We have a common goal: we want to see Richard Petty be successful. We have our favorite drivers, old and new. I have enjoyed the technical and historical information, the pictures are amazing, and it is nice to be able to talk about life outside of racing. There are some folks we miss, like Scott, but people come and go throughout our lives. I am happy to be here among friends. What a celebration there will be the first time AJ takes the 43 to victory lane. Can't wait.

I agree. The 43 in Victory Lane will be an emotional thing for a lot of us. I just think of may of us as Youth Impaired. But yeah, I come here often through the day if I can get to a puter. Been at home yesterday and today as the pain from my nerve damage from the kidney removal is getting worse and I am trying to give it some time and rest and hopefully will get to go back and stay back soon. Rev, we are back to praying for your job. List ALL of your experiences on your resume. I did that after trying to pick and choose once and found a job that needed all of it. Sending you energies. And yes, it is wonderful to post whatever we wish to post and even be able to hijack threads. To me a thread hijacking is usually an evolution where it just goes to something else and continues to be a good thread.

We are a good bunch, aren't we!?! We even allow ONE (note to Donmoos: ONE) Danica fan! And we can't forget the wildlife! Some people may enjoy the nightlife, we enjoy squirrels! It's funny sometimes, I talk to friends about my RPM friends and I sound just like you are each my next door neighbor! Good people here.

I don't want to even guess what my wife thinks of this sight. When ever I mention it she gets this look (all husbands know what I mean). I try not to complain becuase she is a real good sport where NASCAR is Concerned.
She, dispite her not likeing noise, has accompanied me at a NASCAR race in Pheonix, NHRA Race in Brainerd. She also has put up with over 2 hours a day in Sirus NASCAR programming on the way to and from work each day.
She not only listens but is becoming quite knowledgable(i always thought is was going in one ear and out the other) about the sport and surprizes me all the time with what she is picking up.
So I have hope that as she becomes more computer savy she may join us some day.

I felt I would add my input. I really enjoy this site and check it about twice a day, and a lot of you are on FB and the family will ask who are these people and I tell them they are friends from RPM..Although we have never met I look forward to seeing your opinions and thoughts and aprreciate you listening to mine. This site might not grow anymore but if it dont that will be okay, because we will all still be here. Thanks friends for letting me be part of your group.....

I've made it a habit of checking both boards every day. At times I find more information than anywhere else. Some here, are quite knowledgeable and I find it rather refreshing. What better place to be, than among friends. ;D
