The Voyager One is 40 years out close to leaving our planetary solar system. From so far away we still receive and send telemetry from this far distant space craft. A beautiful creation that still functions as we have to jump start dead batteries.
I work less than 5 minutes from the Robert Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt Maryland. Asked an IT at Robert Goddard to uplink our web site to Voyager One ...maybe in a couple hundred thousand years or longer others will dust off the site.

Now that's what I call getting some track time.

The Cassini space craft is in the process of a suicide mission descending into Saturn's atmosphere. To me it is very special to know of exploration for good and for knowledge. Saturn and Jupiter have moons that give a glimpse of early Earth.
The two gas giants Jupiter and Saturn seem to be mini solar systems having moons that are active with ice volcanoes and real volcanoes. Our planet is in what is called the Goldie Locks zone ...just the right spot to support life.
