Don't know if anyone was watching but Aric wound up second in qualifying woo hoo. Now lets see tomorrow if he can put a Petty car on the pole. He actually went back out with 5 minutes left to better his speed, didn't workout but this year seems like an improvement at least for the moment.
Not going to get too high yet but SO FAR SO GOOD.
Been awful quiet on here don't have many hopefully we'll have some 43 people show up.

Aric's qualifying runs were kind of an illusion, he was running 3 or more laps at a time, but Nascar in the real qualifying only gives you 1 lap. The 22 and the 2 had fast times in practice but their laps were true 1 lap deals, where Aric's weren't near that good until 3 laps. As far as yesterday when it counted in the actual qualifying I don't know what happened. I didn't think he'd be a threat for the pole but I at least thought he may get in the top 12 or 15 but 25th was disappointing to say the least, all the Ford's seem to slow down yesterday, along with the Chevrolet's all picking up, makes me think they were sandbagging some. Hopefully he'll run good in the 1st Duel Thursday night, but he's in the one with a whole lot of heavy hitters, I just hope he doesn't lay back and end up starting the 500 in the 30s. He's got a good car, he needs to get on up there and mix it up some.

Was hoping for better...... buuuutttttt Joey Logano wound up 17th he did win the clash, no doubt he's got a front row car. The usual fast cars are all right there in the top 10-15.
I think Aric has been shoved around enough and I saw signs last year when he did have a decent car for that day, he was going to shove back.
Another year of qualifying 24-25 and trying to finish top 10-15 will be hard to watch.
This race hanging in the top 20 all day is WORK, sooner or later someone is going to make just a little error in judgement or block someone then the slide and ride is on. This track and Talladega the NO GO BEHIND THE WALL will be BIG as well as body panel rules. I think that is going to really play out on staying as clean as you can.
Anxious to see the first qualifier, that will tell a lot.
Go 43
