This is as bad as I thought......... RPM has always for what ever reason run well at Phoenix, Richard ran well there often. Bobby Hamilton ran well there won a race there I believe, John Andretti ran well there. Now here we are again can't get out of our own way, 3 mph off the pace.
Good lord this is pitiful, it's almost like a replay every week. Mid pack qualifying 3 mph or more off the pace. Pray for attrition, and cautions to move up and hope you are't in the attrition's.
I may be wrong but sponsor wise I think the Petty name has been stretched so thin it's almost unreadable.
Buuuuuuuuttt as they say there's always next year. If someone doesn't put their finger on something big it's going to be the same again next year.
Over all performance there may be several things they can improve, of course the pit stops are in need of of HUGE IMPROVEMENTS. On the track is another story. Looking back on the year I believe here has been only 1 race where they made adjustments to the car and Aric passed a bunch of people and held on for a good finish. There were several races where they adjusted the car he passed a few cars then the next pit stop someone messed up and cost him several spots on the restart then he used the car up trying to get the positions back.
Just getting run off and left leads me to believe there just is something BAD wrong with these cars. Power has to be a known, there's plenty of dyno work on these engines they should know for sure if they are even close to where the engines should be. I have to agree with several posting here we must have the SORRYIST chassis on the track. For a fact they just can't get off the corner, that's week after week. It's plain as day to me.
If I'm wrong somebody holler at me. Phoenix is not going to be a good race unless they just happen to luck into a little better setup than they qualified with.
