I may be optimistic ( not sarcastic ) I'm looking for a lead lap finish. Usually we are down a lap around the 26 -30 lap mark. Politely saying we absolutely get left on this track like Michigan and California. Bbbbuuuut maybe the boys have worked up something.

Nope! Went from 5th to 20th, 1 lap down on the last lap of the race because obviously somebody cant figure fuel mileage. Also, lost at least two spots every time we pitted. I don't think the big problem is on the race track. They need to look elsewhere.

It became pretty obvious they were going for the win when they didn't pit with the leaders. Of course Brad didn't. I was pretty impressed they did have a good car for Kentucky. I honestly think they were trying their best for a win to ( BIG LONGSHOT ) to make the chase they were finally close enough to the leader to take a chance.
What kind of spooked me at first I don't know what happened he went straight back to 35th from the start. I thought maybe they had a motor going down. Then he started passing cars and stayed in the top 20 the then top 10 and on up to 4th. I was wondering if they were going to risk it.......we found out.
They should know their fuel mileage plot now. Of course it changes from week to week.

Regardless of the 43's performance few realise that NASCAR reduced fuel tank capacity from 22 gallons to 18. This was done quite awhile ago.
Though fuel can be an issue either way. Petty lost races at Pocono and Michigan in the early 80's running out of fuel.
I remember NASCAR having an even smaller tank at Talladega with the idea to break up draft packs. Remember Trevor Bayne winning the Daytona 500 and what NASCAR did during Speed Week making the cars run hot to break pack racing ?
The sanctioning body is manipulating what happens on track in a way that shows who and what they are

What's the problem here?!? We complain when we don't have a car that's worth anything, which may be somewhat justified, until you consider all the changes that NASCRAP is throwing at the teams. Then, when we get a car that's showing some promise and decide to go for broke, instead of cheering the attempt we slam it as a lost cause!! Races have been won and lost on fuel mileage since day one. I seriously doubt that we had much of a handle on the mileage since Kentucky was a repave on a different configuration, with different tires and a different aero package than had ever been run before. TOO MANY VARIABLES!! But, even if the crew had the mileage figured to the last inch, it still made more sense to go for it than to throw away any chance of a win by pitting. I say that it was a hell of a try that I don't blame them a bit for doing. And one that I hope Trent has the guts to do again if we have the chance.

I don't have any problem with them going for it at all, for once in a long while they could legitimately see the leader. It's just too bad the call didn't work. I'm encouraged again as a fan if they can keep putting that good of a car under Aric I think we'll have a win. Pit crew may have stumbled a little but they still had a good car that could PASS people.

I was very glad to see them finally go for something, to me they don't take near enough gutsy risks or calls. I think that's one reason why you see the Penske Fords win so much, especially Keselowski. They make those kind of calls constantly. One thing that puzzles me tho is how the 2 made it and the 43 did not. I had Aric on the in-car radio and he was saving from the start of that run, he even said he had only been 60% throttle the entire time, they were sure they were gonna make it and they didn't really see how anybody else could. The 2 didn't really start saving til 7-10 to go, doesn't make sense to me, and from the 43 radio chatter, it didn't to them either.
On another note from reading y'all's other comments, one thing I've noticed is that Aric cannot get off of turn 4 of any track and it kills him down the front straightaway pretty much everywhere. It's always turn 4. I notice it a lot in qualifying, especially when they're showing him on the tracker. He can be on a great to descent lap and hit turn 4 and he loses everything and then some. I hope they can figure that out and they'll be a lot better on track. I also pay a lot of attention to lap times on Raceview, and they are always 3 tenths to as much of a half second off at times, but throughout an entire race they do close the gap, but by that time they are in such a hole the finish never seems to reflect it this year.
