Picked 3 out of 5.
Very good first class.
The two(2) Men France that started it all.
The KING & 7 time champion & 7 time Daytona Champion
Then the other 7 time Champion
I might say one of the greatest Car owners
Lost on Fireball Roberts And David Pearson

I can't go against Junior Johnson either. No way. I can be happy with these five though I actually think one France could have waited til next year.

I do not agree with this list.
Having both France's in there is incorrect. I can live with Johnson eventhough he never won a championship.
Earnhardt may have made it because of fan voting and or the fact that he is no longer living.
Just my opnion

I didn't have Bill France, Jr. or Dale on my list, but I can understand why they are there. I think the early drivers / owners should have been represented more, but I'm sure they won't be far behind. It's going to be tough to make a Hall of Fame with only five inductees. Maybe the first class should have been larger, like two or three from each decade or something. Just my humble opinion. That and 99 cents will get you a coffee at Mickey Dee's.

It just occurred to me: Richard and Junior are the only living inductees for this first class.

Had completely forgotten that Earnhardt had won 7 titles. I drink Tom's Kool Aid.
The selection commitee is skewed and off track. Again, just an opinion and I have never been a big Earnhardt fan anyhow.
Since he is no longer here I will not give my true thoughts but we know whats up.

Rick you are the Man,I respect everything you say,I would love to hear your thoughts on Sr. but I have to ask and be HONEST,would you take SR. on RPM's team today if it were possible? When I say Sr. today I mean the racer he was back in the day. Of course we would take him,he WAS a WINNER whether anyone liked him or not!!! Richard IS my hero besides my parents and 2 kids but I have 2 say Dale has brought alot of fans to NASCAR and now weather you like jr. or not he has brought and has so many NASCAR fans I wonder where NASCAR would be without them? Anyways I have some Kool-Aid to finish!

Compare apples to apples. Take Sr. back in the day or Richard back in the day. I don't think there is any question here. Class act. Start mixing the bag, and we will alter the discussion.

I would have preferred one France and four racers/owners. But I can understand why both Frances made it into the first class.
I think if Bill Jr were still with us, the result might have been different.
