Here's a shot of AJ's Ford in the Texas garage. I am so lovin' the King's STP paint scheme and I'm already OK with seeing the Ford oval on it.

WOW! We have all been waiting for this. I hope it drives as good as it looks. I wonder if AJ feels a little more pressure with those colors on his car. Next season it might just have the 43 on it instead of 44. That will be deja vu all over again, to quote Yogi Berra.

It's a good week to be quoting famed NY Yankee Yogi! I've been quiet about the team people love to hate. So this will be my only reference to the new World Series Champions! Thanks for the opening revilo! Back to racing now....

This is basically Richard's 992 final year paint scheme, right?
The only difference I see is the white-blue-white border on the sides. In 1992, this stripe was blue-white-blue.

Hey, Paul, some of us Phillies fans can be gracious in defeat. The Phightin Phils won it last year, it was someone else's turn. To the topic at hand, a good showing by AJ over the last three races would stoke the coals of Petty fans everywhere.

Paul, This paint scheme is from what they used for 1984 and 1991. The 1992 scheme had the white and blue stripes reversed. In addition the "92" scheme emulated what was used in 1985.

I knew someone would know for sure. And I'd have bet it would be you Rick. Thanks.
Regardless...I can't wait to see it on the track Sunday.

Doesn't that car just put a smile on your face.

Sure does.
I'm also smiling because Ford kicked up the bucks to be primary sponsor on the car this weekend. I think that is an indication of Ford's support for bringing RPM into their camp next season.

It has been many years or even decades since Ford has been a primary sponsor of a car, possibly going back to the days of Factory support. Motorcraft Parts has been in it for quite some time and FORD Motor Credit was with Dale Jarett when he won his championship in 1999.
Eventhough this is a short term deal it is good for RPM to have it. We can look for good things in the future.

And Obama can't tell Ford to get out of racing.
