Tom, if they paint the 43 in that nasty menard yellow I just dont know ....maybe listen to the radio ? It would be ashame that money brings a ride but maybe he will surpise us. The FORD announcement is a head slapper for sure leaving Dodge with only one team. I'm not really a Paul Menard fan never was, but things change. Hey ricklou, if the 43 is painted that nasty yellow, at least we all will know where it is at all times!! The last few years i have a hard time finding it anywhere on the track.

Hey, I can accept Menard, My son works for them and they are good to him, They transferred him to a store 2 1/2 miles from the college he is attending. He gets free Menards racing items.
I may be crazy but what do you all think of this scenario?
Ray may be out of RPM, He gets his building and starts another Hendrick Satellite team with Chevy.
Erin (the new wife) can drive and Betty Crocker can not sponsor her as she is now a wholesome role model.
It seemed odd that all the names of owners where mentioned but not Ray's anyone else notice that?

I hadn't noticed that. Didn't Petty operate out of the Yates shop the last year of PE and the BV disaster?

I'm not changing my avatar! I own three Volvos (I'm a Swede, what can I say?) (And it's actually four, but one is for sale so I consider it gone already). Ford owns Volvo, at least for now,so I can buy into this. As a Mopar guy (first car a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 convertible, currently have a 1965 Plymouth Satellite convertible in the garage), I took WAY to much grief in 1969 when RP went to the Torino. Thankfully, I don't see those grief givers any more. As Richard said, we've won with Ford before. All things considered, I think this is a good thing. I have more at home, but here are a couple 1969 Petty Ford pix:

As long as it's Petty Blue I will work on trying to remember it's a Ford........Note to self: Face it - you are getting older and it's harder for old dogs to learn new tricks. <Groan>

Man I would have to guess that AJ will be in the 43, and im very sick to know Menard is coming to, nothing like having the worst driver in the field on your team :/ oh oh I thought Mikey Waltrip was the worst driver Well I guess personal opinion takes affect on this 1 but Mikey is at least good at restricter plate tracks where Paul is well not good anywhere. Also Mikey is retiring after this season which leaves Paul as the top dog on the crap o meter. Also I would like to add i'm very excited about the move, it comes as a complete shocker but Ford will give us a lot of attention and resources. Rousch does there own thing anyway so I see Ford just dumping money at our door step. Not to mention Yates horsepower makes me drool. Combine that with our ability to build chassis and watch out! We might be a legitimate championship contender with Kasey and AJ. Already ready for February!

I am pretty sure that AJ will end up in the 43 just from the way he talk about the famous 43 today on sirius. He seemed to me he knew more than he could tell. I aint crazy about this whole deal myself, I mean Dodge is a little behind but Ford aint won shit this year either! And Paul? ? I guess daddys money will help the team out for now but you might as well plan on him struggling to stay in the top 35! But What the hell many have been calling for Reed to get the boot and now it happened! AND we get Paul for a new team member! YEAH! (that was sarcastic in case you didnt get it!) All in all I will still support RPM and always will but ick! FORD? LOL

I'm glad they're out of Dodge, but I'm not sure Ford is a step up. Will they once again be the red-headed stepchild in a manufacturer's camp--getting Rousch leftovers? BTW, I drive a Mercury Villager--part Ford, part Nissan. Close enough?

Oh, wow. Even the thought of Menard in the 43 is depressing. I'm hoping for AJ. Don't see Kasey moving out of the 9 or Elliot out of the 19. Makes sense to slide AJ from the 44 to the 43. Menard should drive a 0 (zero!).

Alright! Richard in Ford pics! You guys have to be the best of historians and pictorians. Pictorians? Oh well, you know what I mean. Big thing is this. Even if Paul Menard wins Indy next year for RPM I am NOT making sickly yellow Kool Aid. Nope. No way.
