This morning, much to my pleasure and surprise, I had a personal e-mail from Tom with a "tune" attached that he wrote and recorded. Let me just say that I had just come off about three tense, stressful days (somewhat of my own making) and when I played the music Tom sent it was so beautiful and calming it brought tears to my eyes. Tom, thank you. You have no idea what an impact your music had. You're the best!

What a guy. Spreading peace and harmony wherever he goes. Speaking of harmony, I was recruited to sing with another barbershop chorus this weekend. They are short on bass singers. I will have two rehearsals before the show. Fortunately I know almost every song they are singing, and I am confident I can pick up the others well enough to get by. It's nice to be needed. It's also nice to be "valued". I still liked being called Junior, even if only for a short time.
Thanks, Tom for all you do.

Thank you but no praise needed. We all have things we do. I am just one of those strange people that hears music in his head all the time and records it sometimes. But am happy it helped. I sent it to probably eight or ten last night. I was just working in the studio, since the Vista based computer had gone out and I was afraid I had lost it all. Found my back up discs and was so happy it wasn't lost forever. Back in the earlier internet days, early to late ninties, I wrote for a lot of websites. At one time I was on over 3500 around the world with one midi or another. Then we got better gear and produced some CD's under the name Dreamsharer, which is still around on Google. It was fun but on 9/11 all that went away along with so many internet businesses. I actually wrote most of them to give away anyway, and only used the sales to support my gear. But at any rate, that is the long version. My music has been used in reiki clinics, childrens clinics and hospitals, nicu wards, and different places to calm people and babies. That is nice. God found a purpose for what He made me hear. That is how things should be. I still play and record but just for fun and not as a day job. . . . May put up a place at mp3.com or hopefully some free site sometime soon now that I have access to the masters again. I don't think we can put music up here, or probably shouldn't anyway. If anyone wants a copy please email me or pm me and I will be happy to email.
Revilo, would love to hear your singing with the quartets. There is nothing more fun that singing harmonies with others. Four and five part are incredible as you said when the voices are right.
If you have anything you could mp3 and send please do.
Glad it helped you Chili. Perhaps it was your need that caused the feeling I had that I should send them out? God does so many wonderful things for and through people. . .
Hoping all are having a great day.

I'll be singing with a chorus on Sunday. We are just forming a new quartet, so maybe if we record one of our rehearsals I will have something. My uncle was a barbershopper for many years. Before he died he gave me some old books of music he had from the late '40's and early 50's. There is more at the house, and my aunt just told me I can have the music and the albums from his collection. I can't wait to get them.

I am so happy to hear that Tom's God-given talent helped people in need. It's what he was born to do. I've seen people that were mourning the loss of a loved one (several of these were parents that had lost their children!) who said that Tom's gift had given them the will to live again. I myself have experienced the soothing and inspirational effects of it, and it was so amazing being in the same house while some of this music was being composed. He is a very talented man and I am so proud of him. Blessings to you all...

Judy, I have not been able to listen to Tom's composition yet, my work pc's volume is out but ...... Tom's attitude and enthusiam says it all and that is why I call him The Songman and that was long before knowing he was a musician.
To be a part of this at Tom's request is the biggest of compliments. Over the last couple of years many of us have come to know one another for many reasons, all of them good.
Tom's personality breaks the one dimensional barrier that we experience in a forum and he breaks it with friendship.
And you Judy are part of this as well for the same reasons. When we needed and wanted to know about Tom awhile ago you kept us informed by showing appreciation for our concerns.
Best of wishes always and now it's time to Rock and Roll
Rick

You are so right loanshark. There is a feeling of caring, friendship, and mutual respect here that is difficult to find anywhere, but especially online. I joked about being a "Valued" member, but it is no joke, We are all valued here. Our opinions, our talents, our individuality. It all comes together on this Petty blue background to create a feeling of family. I am completely serious when I say that I consider my invitation to come here to be an honor. Thank you everyone. My signature line says "God will lead you where He needs you." I think He also leads us where we need to be. This board is an oasis for me, and I hope the rest of you feel the same.
