I'm sure some of you guys have done the Driving Experience. Got my invite for the Richard Petty Driving Experience the other day to come on over to Daytona for 60 laps. Seeing as how I have done the driving experience they wanted to let me have one of 12 spots at Daytona for 60 laps. Only wanted $6,000.00 for some seat time and some time with RP. 6 grand is a little steep for me so I'll pick another time to get in a car again. There's a lot to the deal and it's a helluva good day ish I could do it . Anybody going to take them up I think it is 14 December.?? If someone is I would love to come over and watch. pb

Yes Dec 14.
I got the same invite. Sure sounds like an awesome event, the 60 laps (including drafting and passing practice), lunch and a tour of the museum with Richard only the 12 other participants and their guests. I think it' safe to say I'll never have the sort of opportunity again. But $6k is a big nut to crack.

Cheer up loanshark.
How is it any different than the entire program being called "Richard Petty Driving Experience". And the value of the $6,000 can be found on the track. Getting to spend time with RP is merely the icing on a great cake.
Pricing is in line with the rest of the RPDE programs.
A 24 lap experience at Daytona costs a $2199 and includes 3 eight lap sessions in which you follow the instructor car.
The 60 lap includes 2.5 times the track time, giving it a pro-rated value of $5,500. Plus, it includes drafting and passing training. The drafting and passing adds enough value to more than make up for the $500.
Richard spending his time to be there with the attendees and tour the Petty exhibit at the Daytona Experience museum will certainly help promote sales. And will probably motivate some attendees that otherwise would not have attended. But at the end of the day, it's not much different than him appearing at a fan club event to sign autographs.
I am so tempted by this. But it is $6k that I can put to far better use.
