I usually use my American Strat that has been modded with John Suhr P90's for guitar. My amp varies. Low volume I use either a Roland Micro Cube, or a Bugera V5 with either pedals or a Tonelab LE in front of it. For more volume and playing out I use a modded copy of a 64 Deluxe Reverb that I built from a kit and modded to taste with upgrades and circuit mods. The main circuit mod is that it now has a Tweed Deluxe style cathode bias output section instead of the fixed bias in the blackfaces. It is all fun to me. But then, I guess you knew that. Didn't know you play Rick. We learn more about one another every day. Best I remember your Strat is American with Lace Sensors instead of the standard pickups. They rock!

Tom, you are way in front of me on the gear. I assume when you mention a copy of a Delux Reverb that you are talking about a Fender amp.
I have always been interested in mod's but never got into it. I think SRV used two hopped up Fender combos for his sound which was incredible. I read that one of Stevie's tricks was to detune all of the strings using the heaviest gauge possible which makes for easier fingering while maintaining the fat sound.
The Lace pickups in my Strat are very good but this guitar also has Sperzel locking tuners and a Wilkinson roller nut. Changing strings on this thing is a snap.

Sure, it is a clone of a 64 Fender Deluxe Reverb but modded for cathode bias and also modded to use 6L6's for output tubes. If you are ever looking for a lowpower tube amp look at the Bugera V5. 5 watts, single ended EL84 design. Built in reverb that actually sounds good. Single 12AX7 for preamp and first amp tubes. It also has a power attenuator that lets you choose 5 watts, 1 watt or .5 watts. So you can drive it and still have the babies sleeping down the hall. Lots of fun toys in music! Thinking of putting a roller nut on my Strat as well, but haven't yet. The locking tuners will happen if I do.

I wish I understood the language you guys are speaking. You could tell me a guitar had a Franzen bolt and fan belt oil, and I guess I'd have to believe you. I make all my music vocally, of course I have to sight read the music. After all these years I still can't figure out how to read a sheet of music. Rock on, guys.

Wow! You knew about the Franzen bolt and the fan belt oil??? I thought only guitar mod people knew about those!!!!! Nothing wrong with verbal only. My dad, who was in a pro gospel group for a while and was getting well known before WW2 called on him to go and kill was a fabulous singer. He could never play anything but he surely could sing. Sometime we will be honored to back you up on guitars and sing harmonies for you Rev!
