No, I told my dad I hated it because I could only take one additional person with me in it and I needed ROOM to haul lots of friends. So he traded it back and then bought me a Jeep that we had painted bright pink and put a pink and white stripe top on it. LOVED that Jeep. Hated that T-bird. I was none too smart back then. I don't think I had that T-bird even a month.

BOOOOOO!!!! what were you thinking? Why did you noy consider the future value of that 57 bird? AAAHHHHH, selfish need, more room thoughts! Love it, I would have DEMANDED the same thing! After my demands, my father would have told me to walk...........get rid of the bird, and NO other car...lol

Chili, was that you in the T-Bird in American Graffiti?
I'm practically breathless, a 57 Bird was your first car!
But aren't teenagers of any era great? You managed to find a way to complain about it! Priceless.

Even Richard Petty can be wrong from time to time. I remember RP talking about the magnum after the 77 season and he was pumped up about the car. He said the magnum was long and sleek and had an aerodynamic nose. Actually the magnum was good on superspeedways but not anywhere else. In 78 the car was strong enough to win the daytona 500 but got caught up in a crash with Bobby Allison and I think RP would have won the race, he was just toying with them at the time. He also said later that they used the same chassis that they used on the dodge charger's but could'nt get the magnum to handle causing tires to blow out. The magnum was tricky, it looked fast and racey but it was just too darn big!!
